SYMPHONIC GOLD IS BOSS.

You know it!
... so, what band are you in?

Saturday, August 14, 2010

Dear non-racist brother,

AWESOME GUITAR PLAYING OR WHAT, EH?

Have you been playing much this summer?
Just wondering.
:D

Saturday, August 7, 2010

Dear Sarah, PART 2.

Just for those of you that don't have a facebook account - Sarah, Nathan - I thought I'd let you guys know about the Rolling Hills Water park trip.
This is straight off of the even on facebook, so, not my words.
"Everybody from marching band is invited. And we mean EVERYBODY. Invite anybody on your friends list that may not have been invited.

We will be meeting at Rolling Hills at 10:45, and depending on how nice the weather is to us, we might be there until 7. (If you need to leave, then that is absolutely okay!)

...
There will be a group of us meeting at Taco Bell on Michigan Ave. after the park. If you want to stop by, that would be really nice.

For anybody wondering about admittance costs:
Parking: $5
Admittance into park: $6 ($4 after 5pm, but I doubt that
anybody will be coming in at that time)"

They want to do that this Tuesday, which is... the... um. crap.
I think it's the tenth?
This coming Tuesday.
Let me know if you guys want to come, and I'll let Charlotte/Mike know (They're running it).

Also, about doing the skit at the banquet? I'd rather not, personally. My mother wouldn't really approve and I'd feel intensely awkward in front of all the parents.
As for a pre-evening rehearsal practice, explain why we need one in 50 words or less on a written consent form signed by the mayor.
yeah.
but not really.
I don't really get why we need one...

Thursday, August 5, 2010

Dear Sarah,

You don't have a facebook.
That's NUTS.
So i found some things I thought you (and other people if they still come to the blog) would find interesting.
First off:
Both Jim and Shelby want to do the skit next year, I'm assuming Nathan does too because he's totally awesome. So next year, AVBCM RETURNS.
Two: Our completely unrelated third party outsider skit. For those that don't know and read this, Sarah and i (and whoever else wants to) will be performing Days Of Summer from a Very Potter Sequel at Band Camp next year. (See This.) Including the little monologue at the end.
Sarah, I've begun learning the dance, and editing the script to make it Band Camp-y. (I'm just getting it done now. We don't need to rehearse or anything for a long time.)
I found an instrumental version with a download here but it's a little out of tune and the tempo is faster than it should be. I'm going to keep looking for, like, sheets, or something and maybe Steven Paelicke or Saralyn's mom could play it or something.
Thirdly and lastly, It's gonna be a long three weeks until we have Marching Band again. I miss you guys already. /sadface.

CAST PAR-TAY.

HELLO, JUNIOR STARKIDS.

(If you didn't know, Starkid is the theatre group that put on AVPM, of which we are taking our song from. I f you didn't know that, I'm sad for you.)

We are entering our final weeks before Band Camp! Actually, a week and five days, but still. Please respond to the other message i sent out not too long ago involving a ton of boring, business-y stuff.

BUT COME ON.
ALL WORK AND NO PLAY MAKES US BORING PEOPLE.
That's why we're having a night of awesome! To celebrate all the work we've been putting into this, we've opened up our homes to a NIGHT OF AWESOME.

Alright, you guys have seen A Very Potter Musical, right? No? Only our segments?
THEN IT'S A GOOD THING WE'RE THROWING THIS PARTY.
Starting at FIVE-O'-CLOCK PM on THURSDAY, JULY 22, 2010, we will be watching the entire Very Potter Musical, leading up until the WORLDWIDE PREMIRE of A VERY POTTER SEQUEL at eight-o'-clock.

Don't like watching musicals, despite how awesome they are? That's alright, you can just hang out, mingle. Have some punch. Eat some snacks. Don't worry about it.

Come between 5PM and 8PM, to the ONE AND ONLY, TOTALLY AWESOME, OFFICIAL CAST PARTY. Party ends at midnight, so you guys will be out of there before your carriage turns into a pumpkin.

It's a little short notice for a party, but COME ON, it's a PARTY.
we'll talk, play games, make memories. Y'know, school starts soon. We should get our summer party-ing in before it starts.

ARRIVE AT:
1132 Jeffrey Lane, Saline, MI (That's Liz's house)
5 PM (or later) on Thursday, July 22.

YOU MUST RSVP. I mean, you can randomly show up, but it'd be nice for you to RSVP. You can RSVP at 4.59 on Thursday, but you still need to RSVP.
In order to do so, you need to text 734-645-5133. (That's my number) If you're going to call, please don't, I've got talking minutes that i can't waste. Texting is free. If you can't text (and i know who you are) please respond to this message with your RSVP and one hundred words about why you couldn't text. (or one hundred random words.)

THIS NIGHT WILL BE TOTALLY AWESOME.
AND HAVE NO REHEARSAL UNLESS SOMEONE OTHER THAN I REQUESTS IT.
TEXT TODAY. OR TOMORROW. OR EVEN THURSDAY. WE HOPE TO HEAR FROM YOU.

Also, Sarah, i love the chickens.
And that link you found that has AVPS music.
DON'T MATTER IF IT'S SOONER OR LATER, I KNOW THAT IT'S GONNA BE ALRIGHT.
I DON'T WANT TO SEE YOU GO BUT IT'S NOT FOREVER, NOT FOREVER.
AND EVEN IF IT WAS YOU KNOW THAT I WOULD NEVER LET IT GET ME DOWN.
'CAUSE YOU'RE THE PART OF ME THAT MAKES ME BETTER WHERE EVER I GO. SO I WILL TRY. NOT TO CRY. NO ONE NEEDS TO SAY.... GOOD-BYE.

HOLY COW LESS THAN TWO WEEKS UNTIL PRE-CAMP HOLY SH---------

THIS WAS A COMMENT IN RESPONSE TO PANSY'S COMMENT ON THE POST ABOUT HOW MALFOY AND I WERE TO BE ON VACATION.
OBVIOUSLY,
WE'RE BACK NOW.
THIS WILL BE SENT OUT IN A FACEBOOK MESSAGE BECAUSE THIS WAS ON THE BLOG FIRST.
IF YOU ARE READING THIS ON FACEBOOK, THIS IS A FACEBOOK MESSAGE.
THANK YOU.

Lampdaddy said yes long ago, but i figure that he's forgotten.
I can make an old-looking parchment with his lines on it, and he could hold that, but he'd still need to know the tune. WHO WANTS TO EMAIL HIM?!
Personally, even though my family has known him for years, I'm not that great at talking to him because i feel awkward that I was in orchestra.
Someone who is close to him should send him a message saying that he doesn't need to memorize, and let us know the response.
Another thing, We could find someone tall to dress up like the aforementioned daddy of lamps and /say/ he's Lampman. You Know, he could wear the type of thing Lampdaddy usually wears and the glasses and we'd get a cheer from the crowd if he threw cheeseburgers, despite his real identity.

Parts cut:
Crabbe
Goyle

I feel as though, Bren, You could switch to Lavendar, come onstage with a Japanese parasol (which i have, btw. Mall madness is good for something.) And on your t-shirt we could write 'BROWN' in English an Kanji (Chinese characters). Then we could cut Pansy. Only if you're cool with it though. You have your decision.

What needs to happen?
More rehearsals. We have to get the dancing done, because, basically, most of us have nothing learned.
I'm thinking that the day before the first day of pre-camp we could
wait crap. IS ANYONE HERE A SQUAD LEADER?
We could meet two days before pre-camp at....
does anyone think they can guess where?
anyone?
yes, you in the back?
You think Mill Pond Park?
YOU ARE CORRECT!
Two days before pre-camp at Mill Pond Park, at, say, noon? That would be the 25. Bren, i realize you would probably not make it, but i have complete faith in you that you could learn everything in a day.
If we buckled down and did something.
Let me know your ideas on that.
Another idea that we could do also or instead would be We meet an hour before pre-camp begins on all three days. so at 11 AM on the 27, 28, and 29 of July.I don't think any of us drive ourselves (except maybe Jim) so ride plans would be a good thing to figure out.
As soon as i talk to Malfoy, we'll tell you the rehearsal days and times.
As for the 'lonesome Slytherin' comment, Matt is a lonesome Hufflepuff, so it really doesn't matter too much.
As for t-shirts: AS OF NOW, I HAVE NO MONEY FROM ANYONE REGARDING T-SHIRTS. If you don't give me the money, (or a white t-shirt and I'll just decorate that for free), then we will all wear our Summer Band Camp Collared yellow Shirt Uniforms.
I hope I heard your gasp.
but we need to look somewhat the same.
I know this has been looooong and boring, but Let's get down to business.
A week and 5 days until pre-camp.
We have a long way to go.

*begins to hyperventilate*

AVPS premieres on July 22, 2010 at 8:00 pm.

How 'bout you guys? Wanna throw a par-tay for the occasion?

Meeting wrap-up and other shenannegans

So.
How do you guys think the last rehearsal went?
Spill your guts in the comments.
...
In other news, both Ginny and I will be off on flights of fancy for quite some time. As in, 10 days without interwebs access. So all 'yalls best check the blog on July 15 for a whole boatload of announcements, including dates for our last few rehersals (eep!) and what's goin' on with plans for an AVPS party.

Yeah. It's gonna be totally awesome.

TIME CHANGE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rehearsal tomorrow will take place from 2:00 pm to 5:00 @ Sarah's house.
Be there!

Wednesday, June 23, 2010

Scary thoughts.

As most of you with brains and memories know, Aimee Frey agreed to play the guitar for us.
But she's on vacation in Oregon and may not learn it in time.
Can anyone find an instrumental version of the song as a back up?
So far I have this, but i don't really want to use it because it has so many pauses.
Is anyone out there extremely talented on the guitar and can record it into their computer?
It would help me sleep at night.
Please, no mediocre attempt to play this. I do have audio editing software and can cut out the pauses, but I just don't know how well that will turn out.
And if we can't get music, we'll do it acapella.
Yeah, i hope you shuddered too.

gosh that'd be bad.
okay.
yeah.
the end.

NEXT REHEARSAL: JUNE 29

Okay, kiddies!

Our next rehearsal will be on June 29 from EDIT: 2-5 pm @ Malfoy's house.

If you need directions, email me, 'cuse I don't want my address floating around and creepers finding me.

*shudder*

This will be an intense-ish, music-y type rehearsal, so come PREPARED. That means look over your lines, watch the videos again, etc etc.

So, yeah.

Be there.

Sunday, June 20, 2010

I'm sure your bangs are beautiful, Shelby.

Yes, they are fine. Hermione has bangs in AVPS. Yay.
In other news...
GO. SEE. TOY. STORY. 3. RIGHT. NOW.
It's one of my favorite movies.
(for all who are interested, my top 3 are:
1.Lola Rennt
2.Jurassic Park
3.Monsters, Inc.
I'm going to see Toy Story 3 again tomorrow, we'll see if it can break the top 3. It's hovering around #4 right now.)

And now, finally, we get some real updatey-ness.

Would a time next week (not this upcoming week, the week after) work for anyone to have an intense rehearsal? I'm talkin' the whole shebang, kiddies. Music and dancing and everything.

How about next Tuesday? Is that a good time? Leave a comment!

Malfoy out!

Thursday, June 17, 2010

I was at a party...

and things got a little crazy.
ummmmmmm... yeah.
So, happy birthday Jim, I was laughing too hard to hear what you said your t shirt size was.
We really need to know.
Also, if anybody else didn't tell Paige their tshirt size, leave a comment.
Yep.
GASP ITS SUMMER AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Wednesday, June 16, 2010

YAY

i'm glad we all emerged relatively unscathed from this school year.

now on to other news and such.
if you missed the meeting yesterday, or left early, please leave a comment below telling us what your t-shirt size is (adult sizing).
also, since we can't bug you in school anymore, you need to CHECK THE BLOG EVERYDAY. Make it part of your life. If you miss a rehearsal, it ain't gonna be pretty.

it's only been a few hours and my IQ is already dropping.

SCHOOL'S OUT! FOR! SUMMER!

DOMO ARIGATO CHO CHANG

... or, alternatively,

THANK YOU VERY MUCH-O MR. ROBOTO

this is going to be a freaking sweet show, I can tell already.

In case you happen to live under a rock...

WE'RE DOING AN 80S SHOW.

To my knowledge, the songs will be (not necessarily in this order) Dead or Alive, Livin' on a Prayer, Mr. Roboto, some cheesy Latin song (i've heard from a reliable source it's going to be Hot Hot Hot), and another song.

Are you excited or whats?

Also, 1/2 DAY OF SCHOOL LEFT AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
i should probably be studying.

Monday, June 14, 2010

Quickie doodle meet-o-rama

okay, kids. After school on Wednesday at about 2:40, meet in the band room to discuss things and such. We'll only be there for about five minutes, which is just enough time to premiere the Cho Chang/Cedric Diggory awkward slow dance (now with skirt twirl!).

I hope you two have been practicing.

In other news, we have a book theme because you all SHOULD be studying for exams.
Hermione would be proud.

We only have 2 days left of school AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH

Saturday, June 12, 2010

This deserves an entire post

HOLY CRAP YOU GUYS.
(actually, this really deserves a stronger word than "crap", but we here at AVBCM are suitable for all ages.)

WE'VE HAD A VISITOR.
i'll give you three guesses.
.
.
.
DARREN CRISS AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What i'm even more excited about is the fact that he LEFT A FREAKING COMMENT AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And he isn't calling the StarKid snipers on us AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So I probably should be punching whoever fake Darren Criss is (ahem ahem BRENNAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA i'm looking @ you with an accusing stare), but now i'd just like to say THANK YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!

Friday, June 11, 2010

AHHHHHHHHHH.

So I made a HUUUUUGE mistake.
I've been telling everyone that rehearsal was a noon, but in my post I said one.
OOPS.
sorry, everyone.
Rehearsal is at NOON.
Mill Pond.
Spread the message on!

Thursday, June 10, 2010

A brief disclaimer

Hello there.

As the site gets more hits, some people might stumble across this blog that aren't involved in the show.
Namely, some StarKids might stumble across this and be confused.
So, this is for them.

Okay.

First off, WE LOVE YOU.
We really do.
We're not trying to do better than you (because we won't), steal your hits on YouTube (because we won't), or anything like that.
We're just some crazy rabid screaming fangirls (and non-rabid non-screaming boys) that thought it would be fun to adapt the first two parts of A Very Potter Musical for our marching band camp's skit night.

Don't worry about us getting you guys in trouble- skit night is absolutely free. No money is involved, and we won't post it online, probably.

If you're actually a legit StarKid and have any questions or concerns, please leave a comment and confirm it through some other form of social media (tumblr, twitter, whatever. We just need to make sure you're who you say you are.)

Thankya!

Hold on to your hats, ladies and gents!

This new design format has me all in a tizzy...
Please bear with AVBCM as I work out what the heck's even goin' on.

Thankya!

REHEARSALSSS.

So, most likely, the next rehearsal will be Saturday, June 12.
We will meet at Mill Pond Park at 1PM. If it's sunny, we'll meet by the dragon/dinosaur slide.
If it's rainy, we'll meet under the pavilion.
Stay tuned, because this may not happen. But we shall see. Most likely it will.
The next rehearsal after that would be on the 16 of June. We would meet after school in the Band room.
This probably will not happen, because people make plans to party with their friends then. I'll be there, though. At least for a bit. If anyone want to come.

Random talking time:
There's this air freshener in the computer room and it's supposed to smell like raspberries but it smells like a red pixie stick. it's delicious. I've named it Jimmy and he's marrying my cat on Tuesday in Vegas.

Back on topic:
dsfbulesdbhj0porwdeafscztrwe43sdgvweta6yrfgehvbsdn
That was the sound of my cat sitting on the keyboard.
I guess this isn't really back on topic.
prepare for art to be here.
I'm hiding from my extended family that's flown in for graduation.
speaking of which.....
SEE MOST OF YOU LATER.
at the thing.
since we have to play there.
graaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah.
can you tell that i'm going crazy?
-er?

Casting call: WE NEED LAVENDER BROWN

Do you have any friends than are...

-Asian?
-not afraid to do the twist?

If so, get 'em onboard!

This is what Darren and Joey think of the fact that we don't have a Lavender:

That's right. Pllllfh.

Blogger, you fur-EEK.

And I was so happy...

The little YouTube thingy should have AVPM pictures in them.

If you click, you can watch!

... but sometimes it's pictures of other (not cool) people.

I do not endorse them.

I am not amused.

Mealtime Skits (part zwei)

Hey there, kiddies.

In response to the mealtime skits...
as much as i'd like them to work, i'm not sure how (both logistically and creatively) it would happen.

We would have to scream to be heard in the cafeteria.
It'd involve an enormous loss of free time, what with costumes and organization and such.
It wouldn't get a good response before skit night, and it would be much too chaotic during our last meal.
We would have to sacrifice the quality of the musical number in order to make time to rehearse the mini skits.

...

sorry, kids, I just don't think it'll work.

Your thoughts?

Meeting no. 2 wrap up!

...so.

after our unexpected little surprise, some of us relocated.
It was fun. We got some stuff done.

Whaddaya think? Were we productive? What did you like? What didn't you like?

The more you tell us, the more enjoyable the next rehearsal will be.

Thankies!
.
.
.
.

also, guys, could you PLEASE leave comments AS YOURSELF? I'm getting really confused trying to figure out who is leaving which comment.

rare oppurtunities!

Dear Draco,
I believe we talked about staying after in the Band room tomorrow, just for 10-25 minutes to discuss choreography. Hopefully you see this tonight as a reminder.

If any of you want to join us for ideas, and to say what you want or do not want to do, you're welcome to.
Band Room.
Right after school.

Also, Teddy is no longer Goyle. He has been replaced by Nick Reuter, a next-year-sophomore who is fully capable of the scary Goyle voice. Thank you, Nick, for joining, and thanks for trying, Teddy, but that's life.

Also, please check in on this post by comment. When it says, 'choose a profile', pick anonymous or name/url.
then write your name.
thank you.

-Ginny!

REHEARSAL MAY 31

Alright, Sarah didn't give you enough information on this, so here's the skinny:

1) Everyone meets, performs in the parade, yaddayaddayadda.
2) Return to that parking lot where we all will turn in uniforms. Make sure you wear shorts and a t-shirt under your uniform because it's looking like a high of 82 and a low of 65.
2.5) We'll wait until everyone has their uniform turned in before we leave. We will not be responsible for a missing uniform.
3) Meet... somewhere. we'll talk about where exactly before the parade, and we'll try and get the word out. For now, just think about looking for me (Paige), Sarah, or Marielle (if she shows up). *If you don't know what we look like, look for other members of the cast, or ask someone*
4) We will take a vote on where to go; Mickey's Dairy Twist or Dairy Queen. I have been informed that the lot where we meet is about in the middle of the two, thus the vote.
5) We will then walk to the winning place. Wear comfortable shoes. If you wear flip-flops, we don't want to hear any complaining.
6) Buy ice cream/slushies/etc. Bring your own money. If you forget, no one will buy you anything. (unless they're nice.)
7) Sit on a bench and discuss where exactly we should go to practice. Have an idea in mind. Is there a park near either of them?
7.5) Someone (probably me) we will bring copies of the script. If you forget yours, don't worry about it.
8) Rehearse.

Since we'll be walking a lot, I don't know how long that should take. Keep a cellular device with your or ask to borrow one because we'll be calling parents/guardian/siblings about getting rides home.

Teddy Heiser, I'm warning you in advance. You agreed to be Goyle. It's planned early enough that you can reschedule 'band practice' if you 'already had that planned'.

Music crew- you don't have to come, but you can. Don't worry about your equipment or anything unless you want to play for us (Aimee). If you bring something, you'll be in charge of it (Aimee).

The only reason that you should not attend is that your family has other things planned. ASK THEM NOW TO MAKE SURE YOU CAN GO.

Alright, I know it sounded kind of mean, but this is important.
Yeah.

Quick quiz!

You all know what house your character is in, but where would YOU be sorted?

Me? I'm a Hufflepuff. I'm a particularly good finder.

...

I find your laughing to be extremely rude.

Meet, greet and creep

Wassup, homies?

...
So.
If you haven't already heard, our next (and 1ST OFFICIAL THAT YOU ARE ALL BEING FORCED TO GO TO) meeting will be after the parade. Look for Malfoy and Ginny after we break. We'll be taking a walk to Dairy Queen for some magical feasts (and pushing Marielle in a wagon.)

See ya there!

Tuesday, May 18, 2010

Okay, you guys, seriously.

ENOUGH WITH THE AVPS SPOILERS.
(If you haven't seen the show, don't look at the comments for my pre-show post. Song spoilers live there.)
We have to keep it a secret, so everyone else can experience it in all its gloriousness without preconceived notions of what's going to happen.
I'm mostly concerned about characters, songs, and plot twists.
So!
KEEP YER MOUTH SHUT.
I'm guilty, you're guilty... but we have to keep it under control.
Really.

(sorry if that was ranty. I'm in a bad mood. Too many sans-serif fonts.)

We really have a Harry this time!

... Jim will be Harry.
I'm excited.
Watch the first two parts.

A VERY POTTER SEQUEL!!!

Hello, all. It's Ginny!
For those of you that are.... not very observant, our Band Camp skit is based off of a real musical made by UofM Basement (pigf)Arts.
That musical is brilliant, and for those of you that need to see it still, is here:

The students have made it into a sequel, which four of your fellow skit-eers was able to attend last night.
It may have even been better than the first.
We didn't get tickets, so we waited in stand-by for two/three hours. then we almost didn't get in, but we did and we got to sit in the front row, on the floor. The actors stood in front of us, and i mean, like, not even a foot away from us. We got spit on, and i got 'liquor' (water) kicked in my face. And i got to touch *BEEP BEEP BEEP SARAH EDIT! PLOT DETAIL!!!*. it was amazing. amazing amazing amazing.
We've been sworn to secrecy about the plotline, so we can't tell you much.
But after the show, we were able to meet the cast.
which we did. YAY.
It was amazing because they were all so happy people came out to see them, and that we liked, and how we knew their names already and they haven't eve graduated yet.
Joe Walker, Voldie in AVPM, danced the Voldie dance for us.
Hopefully, you won't have to log in to see it, but it's on facebook here.
That may not work, but this may not either:

This should be the photo album.
it was the best night of my life. I can't speak for brenna, Liz, or Malfoy, but I know it was amazing for them as well.

***OKAY EDIT THE LINK IS HERE ***
Or not?
Joe Walker - To Dance Again!

I woke up this morning and was like, "Oh, that was such a magnificent dream,"
And then i saw my shoes and shirt they signed and Malfoy's camera and i realized that it ACTUALLY happened.
Best. Day. Ever.
end of story.

A Very Potter Sequel: a spoiler-free review

It.
Was.
Awesome.
Incredibly, amazingly, beautifully awesome.
If you have a chance, go tonight.
Who cares that you have school tomorrow?
It (dare I say it?) surpassed the original.
Now, we've been sworn to secrecy, but here's the scoop on what I can tell you...

4:00- we meet at the high school.
4:30- we get lost. I am in full panic mode, but little sister saves the day with GPS.
4:45- we FINALLY arrive and get in standby.
5:00ish- Joey Richter walks by. I squee and everyone in line thinks i'm mentally incompetent.
5:15- Ginny and Cho throw away trash about 20 times in hopes of catching a glimpse of an actor.
5:30- I begin coloring my shoes.
5:45- my father and sister arrive and chill with us.
6:00- We play Go Fish. I lose.
6:15- We play Slappy. I lose.
6:30- the guy sitting next to us breaks out into "I'll Make a Man out of You". We give him high fives.
6:45- Pansy begins singing songs from the first musical, and I retreat into a fetal position, since I still think we have absolutely no chance of getting in and refuse to get excited.
7:00- we're in. HOLY CRAP!

We had great seats. Since we were in standby, they put us wherever they could fit us, which was conveniently located in the front row.
Sitting on the floor.
Within spitting distance of the actors. (We actually did get spit on a few times.)
I began hyperventilating.

The show was amazing.
More awesomer everything.
We bought shirts, but you won't understand them until mid-July.
After the show, we met the actors.
They were all incredibly nice, and seemed thrilled that we wanted them in our hug buckets.
Ginny will upload pictures soon.
The songs are incredible.
The dancing is incredible.
Everyone from the original cast returned, plus some more additions.
IT'S TOTALLY AWESOME.

Malfoy out!

Very exciting...

Ginny, Cho, and Malfoy might get a chance to meet the- *ahem* - source material tonight.

If you have a script, bring it. If you don't, and you have lots of lines/ are a freak that needs to follow along with the script, print one.
If you're work-a-phobic, no worries-- we'll probably take plenty of breaks. (What's a trip to Mill Pond without a walk up the swingy stairs?)

out!

WE FOUND A HARRY.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMGMGMGMGMGMGG.
I'm at school, so I must make this post short.

Basically, Teddy will be playing Goyle, and Tate will be playing Harry.
We have facial confirmation for both of them, so...
REJOICE.
WE HAVE A FULL CAST.

More details to come.

Also, if you're taking the AP test on Friday, it's okay if you're late.
And if you need a ride to Mill Pond, talk to one of the following:
Shelby
Nathan

REJOICE.

1st read through: THE REAL DATE/TIME

Okay.

So.

Our first meeting will be Friday, May 7, at Mill Pond from 12:00-1:30. Meet on the big weird first platform thing in the playground(you know, the thing that looks like a puppet show theater, but without the puppets? Yeah. That thing. You can see it right when you come in.)

In case of inclement weather, we will all squeeze into one of those little turrets and make scary Darth Vader breathing noises into the pipe that works like a telephone.

...

Or we could take shelter in the pavilion, but, you know, not quite as fun...

and yes, I did make the executive decision to throw a time, date and place out there without consulting anyone first. We weren't getting anywhere just noodling around.

So, what'cha think? Can you make it? Not? Bad time? Have an irrational fear of playgrounds? Tell all in the comments!

Creeping Time!

Hmm.
So.
Recently I realized, that if we're going to get together and read through this script, then we need to be able to contact you.
Emails, cell phone numbers, something.
We just need to be able to communicate here.
Some of us are trying, like, seriously trying to make this be totally awesome.
And some of you haven't even checked the blog yet.

That being said, we would enjoy it if you were reachable at some point during the day.
If you send us an email, CHECK YOUR EMAIL EVERYDAY.
Or, you can send us an e-mail with your phone number.
Details on your phone numbers, please. Would you rather get a call or text?

Send e-mail to Rainbow.Supportive@gmail.com.

Numbers/e-mails I have:
Hermione
Draco
Pansy
Aimee
Marielle

That's really sad, because, well, it just is.
If you want this to be totally awesome,
you have to work for this.

Don't be a fool.

Wordle Contest!

Yes, that's right, wordle contest.

A wordle is basically one of these pictures of words, in which the words said the most are the biggest.
Here's one I made by pasting in the script:

Wordle: Band Camp Musical

That looks like code to me, so I'm not sure what it's going to do. Something totally awesome, hopefully.

And because of the lovely Draco, i decided that all readers of this blog get to enter a Wordle contest.
Enter in words somewhat related to this skit we're doing. Or Harry Potter themed, or Band Camp themed.

Here is what you must do:
1. Go to www.wordle.net.
2. Click 'create'.
3. Enter you words. Remember, the more times you enter them, the bigger they'll be.
4. Click 'Go'.
5. Edit the settings either by right clicking, or clicking on the tabs above the image.
6. Click on 'Save To Public Gallery'.
7. Comment ON THIS POST with the link to your image.
8. Wait anxiously until we close the contest.

RULES:
1. The words must somehow be tied to Harry Potter and/or Band Camp.

That's it, basically.
You don't have to be in the skit to enter.
You just have to have read this post.

If you win the prize is.....
A BUTT LOAD OF STICKERS AND MAYBE EVEN SOME CRAYONS/COLOURED PENCILS.

Ooh, yeah. Go enter.
We will have a post when the end is coming.
But enter!
Now!
BEFORE THE DARK LORD KILLS YOU.

Costumes?

Hiya, people!
Ginny (Paige) here!

And now for the lovely thoughts on....
COSTUMES.
BUH BUH BUUUUUUUM!!! [/dramatic music.]

The original plan was that we all wear white dress shirts with shorts/skirts/pants and the tie of your house colour. But, if one person were forget a shirt, we'd be dead meat.
Why?
Because Hogwarts has a uniform code. And we all have to be basically the same.
What if none of us spent any money on dress shirts?
>>"WHAT?!"
I heard you. Don't pretend you didn't think that.
>>"HOW COULD THIS BE POSSIBLE?!"
I'll tell you how.

wait for it.

wait for iiiiiiiit....

Band Camp t-shirts.
The yellow ones, that we all have to bring anyway.
What if we all wore those?
Instead of the Saline logo, we could tape/pin a Hogwarts logo in that place. We'd all still be able to wear ties.
Thinking back, it's not a brilliant idea, but everyone is going to bring shorts and that shirt already. I thinks it's a MOUNTAIN OF EASINESS.
We would not have to worry about packing anything special the night before.
Except for me and Sarah, since we will be bringing the ties, glasses, scar paints, and poster boards. Despite that not really concerning you, it's still a good thing to know, come Band Camp.

Speaking of ties,
You should let us know if you have a Hogwarts tie. Or one that would work for a Hogwarts tie:
Yellow/gold and black; yellow/gold and red/maroon; green/emerald and silver/white; and/or blue and white/silver/bronze.
It'd be very helpful because i figure if we can't scavenge enough of them, I'll end up making them myself. Which is very boring.
Please don't make me go through that.

Essentially, that is it.
If you have any thoughts, questions, or ideas, please comment!
You don't even need an account!
It'd be really helpful to know what everyone thinks.

I hope we reach beyond the possimpible!

Expenses.

Yeah, it's a fact of life. This thing is going to cost some money to do right.

Here's a list of things I KNOW we need to buy:

- Posterboard for signs
- Wig for myself (i'm willing to cover most or all of it, but any help would be loved.)
- random accessories (glasses for Harry, makeup supplies, etc.)

We also may want to invest in some microphones, but again, i'm not getting involved with that unless I need to.

Did I miss anything?

More importantly, where is the money coming from?

Mealtime skits

So, Pansy had the brilliant idea of extending our reign of terror to meals. I think it would be pretty hilarious. Here's my ideas:

1) This would only work on Harry Potter day (if we have one; if you have any sway with whoever makes up the theme days, GET THIS DONE) or after skit night. My concern with doing it at a random meal would be that people would just be like, "eh... what? Why is Sarah prancing around on top of a table in a blonde wig?"

2) In order to be heard, we would have to plan it ahead with Mr. Lampman so he'd make people be quiet, or screech bloody murder. Or wear microphones (Matt is now the Microphone Jedi. Just so you know.)

3) We'd have to be in character the whole time, from when we left our rooms to when we got back. We'd all sit together as well, naturally, so people knew that something weird was going on.

I think this has the potential to be (forgive me) TOTALLY AWESOME.

What do you think?

THE SCRIPT

I less than three you, Ginny.

For your perusal and such:

Harry: [slowly]
I’m sick of summer and this waiting around
Man, it’s July, I gotta skip this town.
Hey, it’s no mystery,
There’s nothing here for me now.

I gotta get back to Band Camp
I gotta get back to school
I gotta get myself to Band Camp
Where everyone knows I’m cool.

Back to Marching and playing and aching feet
To sunshine and squirt guns and magical feasts
It’s all that I love and it’s all that I need at
Band Camp! Band Camp!
I think I’m going back.

I’ll see my friends, gonna laugh ‘til we cry
Go to McDonald’s and order some fries
No way this week anyone’s gonna die
And it’s gonna be totally awesome!

Won’t go to sleep, gonna stay up ‘til dawn
Hang up some pictures that I’ve drawn
And do I all with my best friend Ron
‘Cause together, we’re totally awesome!

Ron: [entering]
Yeah, ‘cause together, we’re totally awesome!
Did somebody say Ron?

Harry: Ron! What are you doing here?!
Ron: Picking you up for band Camp, of course!
Harry: Cool!
Ron: So grab your stuff, and let’s go!
Harry and Ron: FLOO POWDER POWER FLOO POWDER POWER FLOO POWDER POWER!

Harry:
It’s been so long, but we’re going back
Ron:
Don’t go to work– I just come for the snacks
Hopefully this year I won’t get smacked
By Hermione
Harry:
But that was awesome!

Harry and Ron:
This year we’ll take everyone by storm
Stay up all night, sneak out of our dorm
Hermione: [sneaking up behind the two]
Let’s not forget that we need to work hard on our drill
And practice our marching skills!

Ron: Aw, Hermione, why’d you have to be such a buzzkill?!
Hermione: Because, guys, Band Camp’s not all about fun and games! We need to work hard if we want to be good role models for the freshmen, and not make fools of ourselves!
Ron: I never made a fool of-
Hermione: Ron, last year, you tripped over a pylon and broke your trombone.
Ron: I-
Hermione: You put Colin McCune in the hospital when you tried to do suicides.
Ron: That-
Hermione: You made Dumbledore deaf in one year when you were practicing “God Save The Queen”!
Harry: [giggles]
Hermione: Ugh!

You guys don’t get how great we could be
If we would practice diligently
You’re just here to screw around-
Ron:
Yep, that’s me!-
Hermione:
But you guys, that’s not totally awesome!

This week I plan to practice a lot
Ron:
That would be cool if you were actually hot!
Harry:
Hey Ron, c’mon, we’re the only friends that she’s got!
Ron:
And that’s cool
Hermione:
And that’s totally awesome!
Harry, Ron, and Hermione:
Yeah, it’s so cool, yeah, it’s totally awesome!

We’re sick of summer and this waiting around
It’s like we’re sitting in the lost and found
Don’t take no sorcery for anyone to see how

Gotta get back to Band Camp!
We gotta get back to school!
We gotta get ourselves to Band Camp!
Where everything is Magi-cool!

Back to Marching and playing and aching feet
Back to sunshine and squirt guns and magical feasts
It’s all that I love and it’s all that I need at
Band Camp! Band Camp!
I think we’re going back

Ginny: [rushing in]
Roooon! You were supposed to take me to Madame Opaleski’s for my uniform fitting, and use those sickles mom gave you for my gloves!
Harry: Oh, who’s this?
Ron: This is stupid little dumb sister Ginny; she’s a freshman. Ginny, this is Harry. Potter. He’s Harry potter.
Ginny: You’re Harry Potter! You’re the Boy Who Lived!
Harry: …And you’re Ginny.
Ginny: It’s Ginevra.
Harry: Umm. I’ll stick with Ginny.
Ron: Stupid sister! Don’t crowd the famous friend!
Hermione: Do you guys hear music?
Ron: Yeah, someone’s coming.

Cho, Pansy, and Lavender:
Cho Chang
Domo Arigato
Cho Chang
Gung Hay Fat
Choy Chang
Happy happy new year
Cho Chang!

Ginny: Whoa, who’s that?
Harry: [flustered]
That’s, uh, that’s Cho Chang.
Ron: That’s the girl Harry’s totally been in love with since freshman year.
Hermione: But he won’t say anything to her.
Ron: Well, you never tell a girl you like her! It makes you look like an idiot!
Ginny: [to Lavender]
Konnichiwa, Miss Cho Chang, I am Ginny Weasley. It is good to meet you.
Lavender: Hon, I ain’t Cho Chang.
Ron: That’s Lavender Brown! Racist sister!
Cho: Hey, hey. Aw, It’s alright. I’m Cho Chang, y’all.
Harry: She’s so perfect!
Ron: Yeah, too bad she’s dating Cedric Diggory, though.
Harry: Cedric? Who’s Cedric Diggory?!

Cedric: [entering, pushing over Ron, Harry, Hermione, and Ginny.]
Cho Chang
I am so in love with
Cho Chang
From Bangkok to
Ding-Dang!
I’ll sing my love aloud for
Cho Chang! [Cho, Pansy, Lavender, and Cedric exit]

Harry: I hate that guy! That stupid, baby-faced jerk!
Malfoy: [entering in the arms of Goyle]
Did somebody say Draco Malfoy?
Harry: Malfoy, what do you want?
Malfoy: So, Potter, returned for another week at Band Camp, have you? Maybe this time you’ll wisen up and hang out with a musician of higher caliber.
Harry: Listen, Draco, Ron and Hermione are my best friends in the world. I wouldn’t trade them for anything.
Malfoy: Have it your way. [to Ginny:] Wait, come here. Don’t tell me. Red hair, hand me down clothes, and a stupid complexion. You must be a Weasley.
Ron: Hey, lay off her, Malfoy! She may be a pain, okay, but she’s my pain. [To Ginny:] Now, are we gonna get that uniform or not?
Ginny: Okay, okay, let’s go! [Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Ginny exit.]
Malfoy: Oh, isn’t this cute? It’s like a little loser family! Hogwarts really has gone to the dogs. But luckily next year, I’ll be transferred to Pigfarts!

This year you bet, gonna get out of here.
The reign of Malfoy is drawing near.
Everyone will have a reason to fear
And it’s gonna be totally awesome!
Look out world, for the dawn of the day,
When everyone will do whatever I say
And Potter won’t be in my way
And then I’ll be the one who is totally awesome!
Goyle:
Yeah, you’ll be the one who is totally awesome!

Hermione: Come on, guys, we’re gonna miss the train!

All:
Who knows how fast this week’s gonna go
Hand me a bowl, let the ice cream flow.
Harry:
Maybe at last, I’ll talk to Cho!
Ron:
Oh no, that’d be way too awesome!
All:
We’re back to learn everything that we can
It’s great to come back to where we began
And here we are, and ALAKAZAM!
Here we go, this is way too awesome!

Come on and teach us everything you know
The waiting’s over and we’re itching to go
Neville:
I think it’s time to see
Our great Lampdaddy!

All: [vocalization]

Lampdaddy:
Welcome all of you to Band Camp
Welcome all of you to school
Did you know that here at Band Camp
We have an awesome swimming pool?
[spoken] Open one day only.
Welcome, welcome, welcome
Band Camp
Welcome hotties, nerds and tools
Now that I’ve got you here at Band Camp
I’d like to go over a couple of rules.
My name is Nate Lampman, and I am the marching Band director here at Hogwarts. Now, first thing’s first. Who’s twenty dollar bill is this?
Malfoy: Mine!
Lampdaddy: Ha! Ten push-ups!
Malfoy: What?! [does push-ups]
Lampdaddy: Let’s continue. You must eat, get to bed on time, and drink lots of water. Remember, naptime is a privilege, not a right!

All:
Back to Marching and playing and aching feet
To sunshine and squirt guns and magical feasts
It’s all that I love and It’s all that I need at
Band Camp! Band Camp!

Harry:
Back to singing
Hermione:
And dancing
Ron:
Eating
Ginny:
And friends!

Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Ginny:
To Gryfindor!
Cedric:
Hufflepuff!
Cho, Pansy, and Lavender:
Ravenclaw!
Malfoy, Goyle, and Crabbe:
Slytherin!

All:
Back to the place where our story begins at
Band Camp!
Band Camp!

Lampdaddy: I’m sorry, what’d you say?

All:
Band Camp! Band Camp!

Lampdaddy: I didn’t hear you kids!

All:
Band Camp! Band Camp!

Harry:
Man, I’m glad I’m back!

[end]

Casting call: WE NEED HARRY POTTER

badly.
It's going to be hard to do a musical number based off a musical that's based off the Harry Potter books without a Harry Potter.

So!
Do you have any friends that...
- are male?
- are in marching band?
- look somewhat like Harry Potter? (i'm talking similar hair color, people, not a stunt double.)
- can carry a tune?

If so, talk to them! Bug them! Show them the script!

( Which Paige has, at the moment. You may have seen it around. It's a purple notebook covered in stickers... haven't seen it? No? Well, you will soon enough. There should be a copy posted online sometime soon.)

If you have any ideas, or have found a Harry for us, please post a comment!

((EDIT: WE HAS HARRY!))

First read-through dates

YET ANOTHER EDIT: Right now, the best option looks like meeting for lunch next Friday at a restruant or something. Whatcha think?

ANOTHER EDIT: Or something. Perhaps Mill Pond?

Previously, there had been a post here about a possible first read-through date on the 7th after school, until it was pointed out to me that we don't HAVE school. So, yeah. That'd be a problem.

Now the plan has shifted once again. Would you rather...

1) meet for 20-30 minutes after school sometime next week?
2) meet at someone's house next Friday? (probably mine.)
3) meet in a dark alleyway in the dead of night? (eh, probably not the best plan.)

Be sure to comment here (you shouldn't need an account, just enter your name/part and comment) so we can decide what to do.

It's gonna be totally awesome!
